BACKGROUND:
Fort Ticonderoga is located in New York State and was a huge fort. For various reasons this fort was fought over countless times. Control of Fort Ticonderoga swithced back many times before it was finally burned down by the British. Now it was restored and can be visited today as a historical museum.

What: The first battle took place on in July 1758, when British General Abercrombie led 16,000 men to the fort, only to be beaten by 4,000 French soldiers ready at the fort. In 1759, it was captured by General Jeffery Amhurst and then renamed Fort Ticonderoga.
Later, May 10, 1775,
